Learning technologies are expanding at a rapid pace. Less than two decades ago the Internet was not used in mainstream education. Today, students at all levels have access to a variety of learning technologies ranging from online material to interactive white boards to mobile learning to learning objects. Elearning is regarded as the use of technology to enhance learning, teaching and assessment. The debate concerning the effectiveness of these technologies over more conventional means of teaching remains unresolved. There are issues around establishing an elearning pedagogy, evaluation of new technologies and the perceived benefits of elearning. The focus of this topic is to explore the research that is being carried out in this area and to present findings without bias. Teachers in a classroom setting carry out much research at the grass roots; it is their work that is the concern of this topic, as well as that of funded projects.
Who May Submit:
Submissions are welcome from researchers, school and college teachers, trainers and trainees at all levels and in all contexts, as well as any others who are actively involved in teaching. Papers are particularly welcome from those carrying out research as part of their professional practice. Please identify your submission with the keyword: ELEARNING.
