Course Title: Preparing International Higher Education for Strategic Change

The purpose of the course is to engage a small number of students in helping to create a new Center at UCLA. The mission of the ÒCenter for Strategic ChangeÓ is to help institutions of higher education from countries around the world to develop the capacity to interpret their environments and adapt. More broadly, the CenterÕs aim is to develop theory to guide such change, and to provide tools to enable administrative and academic leaders to effect lasting and productive change.

The class will meet for 10 weeks. Seven meetings will be devoted to reporting on selected readings and discussing issues about change with invited policy leaders and experts on higher education.
